The unique markings of individual zebras have always interested me. I found this amazing photo by Cuyahoga on Pixabay and loved the juxtaposition of the two zebras fascinating. Zebras are not really just black and white and the challenge of depicting them totally engaged me. I used pastels as the medium to depict the subtle color variations. The symbolism of the zebra is also very intriguing. They symbolize working as a team, achievement, balance, challenge, community, light and dark, agility and alertness.
